SAFARI 4 DAYS

Program:

Day 1

Early morning departure from your village or home. Estimated arrival at Tsavo West Park around 09:00/10:00.
Tsavo West is the place where, at the beginning of the last century, the legend of the man-eating lions took root, which inspired the film “Spirits in the Darkness” which “opposed” the construction of the railway that would have connected the southern coast of Kenya with Uganda.
Tsavo West contains several spectacular habitats: riverine forests, mountains, lakes and vast plains. It also presents a great variety of birds and animals: the numerous pools of water ensure a constant presence of Kenyan fauna even during the dry season, when various species of animals move further south. The landscape of the park, full of large centuries-old baobabs, reaches its maximum splendor after the rainy season, when everything seems to take on pink tones and the acacia trees are covered with beautiful white flowers. The black rhinoceros in particular has suffered the action of man: the number of specimens is constantly decreasing and today during a safari in Kenya you can only meet it in the super-protected areas dedicated to it. Arrival at the Lodge around h. 12.30pm, (it is recommended to bring a photocopy of passport) lunch and rest. In the afternoon possibility of photo safari at the Rhino Sanctuary. (open from 4pm to 6pm) It will depend on our position in the park. At the base of the Ngulia hills, in the central area of the park, there is a fenced area where the black rhinos have been brought to better protect them and where it is hoped they can rebuild a larger community. The area can be easily visited by tourists. Return to the lodge after sunset, dinner, after dinner, for the lucky ones, sighting of the leopard intent on eating in the trees, overnight stay.

Day 2

Wake up at 06.00, breakfast at 06.30, departure at 07.00. Start the GAME DRIVE towards Mzina Spring The pure Mzima spring water emerges at a constant daily rate of over 50 million gallons (190 million litres), creating this vibrant oasis in the heart of Kenya’s Tsavo National Park West. Clarity of the water in Mzima Springs is due to the fact that it is underground spring water that filters through the volcanic rock of the local Chyulu Hills. In the crystal clear waters you can admire hippos and crocodiles. We leave Tsavo West Park to reach Amboseli Park. Around h. 10.30am arrival at the park gate and start of a new GAME DRIVE to admire giraffes, gazelles, buffaloes, elephants, wildebeests, lions, cheetahs, baboons, hyenas and many other animals. Arrival at the camp located on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, around h. 12.30 check-in, (it is recommended to bring a photocopy of passport) lunch and rest. We leave for the GAME DRIVE around 3.30 pm to head towards Lake Amboseli where you can see hippos and other animals until sunset, return to Kibo Camp, dinner, and overnight stay. After dinner you can admire the welcome show of a MAASAI representation.

Day 3

Wake up, breakfast and departure for game drive. Photo safari as we head towards the exit of the Park, to continue, on the road that connects Nairobi to Mombasa, towards the Tsavo East Park. Short stop before entering the park. Once inside, start the GAME DRIVE to see as many animals as possible, in the park you will encounter: lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, dik-diks, antelopes, waterbucks, cheetahs, leopards, crocodiles, hippos and others savannah animals. At 1.00 pm you arrive at the lodge or tented camp. Check-in, (it is recommended to bring a photocopy of passport) lunch and rest. Relax in the pool to admire the animals drinking from the nearby waterhole. We leave for the GAME DRIVE at 3.30 pm until sunset, return to the lodge, dinner from 7.00 pm and overnight stay.

If we are really lucky we will be able to see a rare lion climbing the trees. Warthogs are numerous throughout the park, as are waterbucks, zebras and buffaloes, while Thomson’s gazelles prefer the thick bush, where it is also more likely to spot leopards. Program:

This is a one-day excursion, from morning to mid-afternoon.
– Departure at 8.30 or 9.00 (the time depends on the tide) from your village, we will pick you up with a car with driver and take you to the beach where all the boats depart from. From there the sea adventure will begin! In the December-February period we will go directly out of the coral reef to meet schools of dolphins swimming free in the ocean. In the other months we will go directly to the Watamu Marine Park where there is a coral reef to see various species of multicolored fish and corals.

The boats have glass bottoms, so even those who don’t know how to swim will be able to admire the seabed throughout the crossing. The boats are equipped with masks and fins for those who need them.

Those who want can go snorkelling or take a swim in complete tranquility in the Indian Ocean.

The next stop will be in the natural pools with transparent water that form at low tide in front of the GarodaResort village. Here too it will be possible to snorkel or pretend to be in the bathtub for complete relaxation! From here we will head towards the mangrove area, an area particularly rich in various species of starfish.

The area is rich in lobsters and prawns, so it is very easy to encounter fishermen’s boats intent on fishing along the way. The mangrove forest is full of monkeys visible directly from our boat. As the area is rich in pink shrimp, it is easy to encounter groups of pink flamingos looking for lunch.

An unmissable opportunity to see them up close and take lots of photographs! For lunch we will stop at Waka-Waka Island, island famous for its lunch of grilled fish and fruit. Lobsters, prawns, octopus, rice with coconut milk, and then fruit: pineapple, passion fruit, bananas…a real delight! Lunch also includes drinks: water, cocacola, fanta, sprite.

After lunch there will be a show by a family from the Giriama tribe, who will entertain guests with dances and songs typical of their tradition and culture.

After lunch we will be able to relax a bit before leaving around 3.00 pm, arriving at the beach from where we left by 4/4.30 pm where there will be a car waiting for us to take you back to your village.

Excursions Gede’s Ruins

View Details

Program:

Departure is scheduled for 3.30pm for the Ruins of Gede: an Arab-Swahili city mysteriously abandoned in 1400.
Popular tradition makes this location magical and at the same time feared, to the point that none of the locals would enter the ruins after sunset…
The excavations brought to light Ming porcelain, glassware and glazed terracotta shutters from the 13th century, the date of the city’s foundation.
For completely unknown reasons this city was abandoned in the 17th or 18th century, because the sea receded or due to the invasions of the Galla tribe from the North.
The ruins are surrounded by lush vegetation with numerous baobabs. The palaces are built with lime made from coral and earth.
During the walk, which lasts about 90 minutes, there are monkeys and baboons screaming from the treetops, lizards moving quickly in the undergrowth and large butterflies fluttering among the ruins.
The return to Watamu is scheduled for 5.30/6.00 pm

We will follow the road towards Malindi, up to the junction for Marafa; from there the road is completely unpaved, the typical African road.
We will pass through many villages, until we reach the Canyon after about 1 hour.
There you will learn the true history of the Canyon and the legend about its origin.
We will take a long walk through its gorges [marafa safari], until returning to the starting point around sunset.

The moment of sunset is the magical moment of Marafa: the red rocks shine with the sunlight, and if we are lucky not to have clouds in the sky, you will be able to see the most romantic sunset of your life!
If you want to bring something for the children, this is the right place. There are many poor children in this area, so anything will be a real gift for them! Around 6.30pm we will leave to return to your villages in time for dinner.
